Free Music Venues

We attended a free concert at Wilde Lake Park that had teen bands listed. The one the girls liked (and got the T shirt) was Parking Lot Nights.
While I enjoyed the bands, I couldn't help thinking "where is the music?" what are the lyrics?" It was undeniably a "screamo" band.

We're bored!!!

What's fun to do this summer? We plan to attend the free outdoor movies at Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. Better than the drive-in!

Music in our family

We wanted to give the love of music to our girls and succeeded. They both take piano lessons, Kate takes cello lessons and Janna takes violin lessons. Lessons, lessons, lessons! Do I really think music might be a career choice?

Highbrow/Lowbrow

On Saturday 5/28 we all attended the BSO Lower Strings concert. Beautiful individual performances by Robert Barney playing double bass, Jonathan Carney on the violin, and especially Dariusz Skoraczewski, on the cello.

Later that day I took the girls to see Vin Diesel in The Pacifier.

Now I really feel the two sides of my brain are even.

Feels like summer

82 degrees today. We went to niece Arielle's H.S. graduation at National Shrine in D.C. then on to Annapolis for lunch. No sign of Dubya, but he was speaking at the Naval Academy graduation.
